Please do your diffs against CVS.

As far as I can see, athe consequetial changes in your patch have
already been applied. Feel free to check me on that, however.

Bear in in mind also that:

DIFF="/bin/diff"
TAIL="/bin/tail"

gets changed to match your system by the configure/build process. For
Linux:

DIFF="/usr/bin/diff"
TAIL="/usr/bin/tail"

Thus, the change is not appropirate for a patch against the source.
