The only possible reason for keeping it is if the author hope[sd] it 
would be used by another monitor.

A Mon 'monitor' (plugin) author was keen that if I modified his monitor 
for Nag it should work for both environments.

OTOH, now it's part of Nag plugins ... I'll write to the author and ask.
