First you will need the FreeTDS library:

http://www.freetds.org/

Then you can either use the check_mssql.sh in the contrib/ directory of
the Nagios-plugins package, or use the attached one that I wrote in Perl
(Will require Time::HiRes, Nagios::Plugin and DBD::Sybase).

In any case see the comments in the header of my plug-in as you will
likely need some special --configure options to FreeTDS (When I tested,
setting the FreeTDS config just wasn't enough - I don't know why).
