Hello,

 

Why don't add for example an -m option to say to nagios to send mail
notification (when critical) on other email address than the email address
use by nagios by default for notification ?

If you check STMP smtp.example.com and your notification email address for
nagios is nagios at example.com, If smtp.example.com is down, you can't receive
a mail notification from nagios on nagios at example.com .
