The inclusion of a ; means it is returning as a string. You might try using the [UPS-MIB OIDs](http://www.oidview.com/mibs/0/UPS-MIB.html) and see if the frequency endpoint there returns a cleaner value first. Unfortunately, when check_snmp is used together with rrd tool (exactly by Nagios),, rrd cannot render graphics, because it expects integer values as input. It check_snm would have some option to round returned values, it will help a little to solve that issue.
