Hi Team,

Could you please help me understand the check_ntp_peer monitoring plugin.
I am using the plugin as per the documentation
https://www.monitoring-plugins.org/doc/man/check_ntp_peer.html but I am
unable to get expected results and everytime it throws me an error message
as below.

root@:~# /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_ntp_peer -H ntp.ubuntu.com
*CRITICAL - Socket timeout after 10 seconds*
root@:~#

It's for checking an ntp server which you are a "peer" of.

If you are just a standard downstream user of a server (i.e. if
you're using ntpd, you would use "server" not "peer" to connect)
you probably want check_ntp_time instead.
