I don't know NTP in deep, but looking at <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://article.gmane.org/gmane.network.nagios.plugins.devel/5619">http://article.gmane.org/gmane.network.nagios.plugins.devel/5619</a> is obvious that we can receive Nagios notifications with message "NTP CRITICAL: Offset unknown" while, looking at verbose messages shown by the commands executed, the clock offset calculated is accurate but the result is simply discarded cause received NTP packets have leap flag on. One month ago we stared receiving these alarms: they appear and disappear many times every day; it's very annoying :-( I looked at sources and I found lines to modify, eventually: if I'm right, I'd like the modification to be useful for all Nagios users, making it public, else, if this change is conceptually a mistake, I'd like to know why and if there's a way to monitor machine NTP clock ignoring leap seconds. Nagios version: 3.0rc 1 Plugins version: 1.4.11 OS: Unbreakable Enterprise Linux AS release 4 Update 6 (i386).
