Thank you Jackson for all your help, but, after adding all the missing
pieces (snmp.conf, OPENSSL, etc), and searching most of the archives
(nagios/netsaint/net-snmp), I am still have the same problem..:-((..

Now I am repost the problem, since the previous email gets too large.

I installed net-snmp (ver 5.0.2.pre1) and nagios (ver 1.0b4) on Solaris
(2.8), both nagios and net-snmp are working fine (check_ping, check_dns,
etc..and snmpwalk, snmpget, etc..are working), but I have trouble to use
check_snmp.

Here's part of my snmp.conf file
mibdirs /usr/local/share/snmp/mibs
mibs +ALTEON-PRIVATE-MIBS

Here's snmpget output
$snmpget -c public 1.1.1.1 .1.3.6.1.4.1.1872.2.1.8.12.2.0
ALTEON-PRIVATE-MIBS::memStatsFrees.0 = Counter32: 152637538

Here's the check_snmp output
$check_snmp -H 1.1.1.1 -o .1.3.6.1.4.1.1872.2.1.8.12.2.0 -w 100000000 -c
50000000 -C public
SNMP problem - No data recieved from host
CMD: /usr/local/bin/snmpget -m ALL -v 1 172.16.64.5 public
.1.3.6.1.4.1.1872.2.1.8.12.2.0

Any help (point me to the right direction or send me your check_snmp command
samples) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot,

Li
