[Nagiosplug-help] check_nt error

I have a system running Win2K, Exchange 2K and the pNSClient.
The pnsclient had been working fine until I installed the Symantec AV product for Exchange on the server.
I have since removed the Symantec product but I am getting the following behavior.
Event viewer reports this:
Event Type:	Warning
Event Source:	NSClient
Event Category:	None
Event ID:	3
Date:		10/25/2002
Time:		7:38:47 AM
User:		N/A
Computer:	EXCHPA2
Description:
CollectData failed 

When I run check_nt -H 172.31.1.26 -v CLIENTVERSION (or any other check_nt command) I just get
Connection refused by host

I have searched the archives and found nothing on this.
