[Nagiosplug-help] check_ntp

Has anyone else experienced this?
 
At random times for a short period, I get this output from the check_ntp
plugin:
 
Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at
/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_ntp line 306.
NTP UNKNOWN: Jitter  too high
 
The first line leads me to believe that there is something wrong with
the script and not the service.
 
Any ideas are appreciated.  Thanks.
