[Nagiosplug-help] Host UP when SMTP down

Just curious if anyone else has seen this, I've got nagios fully up and
running, but when we took down sendmail on another server to test
paging/e-mails, it listed it like this:

***** Nagios 1.0 *****

Notification Type: PROBLEM
Host: admin2
State: UP
Address: 209.62.160.17
Info: Connection refused by host

Date/Time: Wed Feb 12 16:21:13 CST 2003

Any idea why it'd say state is up?
