[Nagiosplug-help] check_tcp returning junk data

Hello,

I am trying to configure check_tcp service, which returns the actual data, plus some garbage:

Status Information:

TCP OK - 0.008 second response time on port 8181 [“týÿÿ‹týÿÿ)Ê1öÁú[1]9Ös‰×ÿ”³týÿÿF9þrôƒÄ [^_ÉÃU‰åVSè]

Nagios-statd is running on the remote machine.

Here’s the nagios server config for check_tcp:

command_line $USER1$/check_tcp -H $HOSTADDRESS$ -p $ARG1$

check_command check_tcp!8181

Running this manually yields the same results.

[^_ÉÃUåVSè] |time=4134us;0;0;0;10000

Am I missing something?

Thanks,
Anjan
