Hi !

I'm trying to configure nagios_check_command - parameter in cgi.cfg properly
so that the GUI-Message "Monitoring process may not be running" disappears and
entering service commands becomes possible.

I'm running Nagios under HP-UX 11.11 (11i v1) on a PARISC-based machine.
I was unable to compile the 1.3.1 - version of the check_nagios - plugin. But
compiling alpha-version 1.4.0 worked fine. So I put the 1.4.0 - binary of
check_nagios into my 1.3.1 - based folder /usr/local/nagios/libexec.

When doing a "ps -ef | grep nagios" I get

nagios 15148 1 0 15:01:21 ? 0:00 /usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -d /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cf

as result. So I tried the check_nagios - plugin manually this way :

/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_nagios -F /usr/local/nagios/var/status.log -e 5 \
-C '/usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -d /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cf'

But I get "Could not locate a running Nagios process!" as return value.

So the CGI still claims that the "Monitoring process may not be running" .

How can I determine which ps - syntax check_nagios uses to give it the correct
value for compare ?

Regards,
    Marcus
