I think it would be helpful if you posted the command definition
for the check_disk from
the nrpe.cfg on your to be checked host.

  I have made a little modification of the default configuration file. i have copied "check_local_disk" command from the NAGIOS host to the remote host's nrpe.cfg  -

command[check_disk2]=/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_disk -w 20 -c 10 -p /dev/hdb1
command[check_zombie_procs]=/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_procs -w 5 -c 10 -s Z
command[check_total_procs]=/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_procs -w 150 -c 200
