[Nagiosplug-help] please help: how can my NAGIOS generate SMS alerts?

dear all,
 i am a very new member of this group. i work as a system administrator in a GSM service providing company in Bangladesh. we are using NAGIOS only to check the state (down/alive) of our servers.
 
 my boss has asked me to configure NAGIOS in such a way that it could send SMS alerts only when any of our server is down. i have seen the documentation of NAGIOS but did not get a clear picture from it.
 
 we have a mysql database in another host which is configured with our SMSC gateway. i need to put only the system-down alerts into that database & then the SMS will be generated automatically. 
 
 can anyone please help me in this matter?
