[Nagiosplug-help] check_apache woes

Hi,

I'm trying to use check_apache to monitor the load on one of our Apache servers.  I'm having trouble getting any kind of useful information out of the plugin, though; some example responses are:

# ./check_apache.pl -H 172.16.1.5
HTTPD CRITICAL: average response time 147967637

# ./check_apache.pl -H 172.16.1.5 -w 70 -c 90
HTTPD ok: average response time 0 milliseconds

# ./check_apache.pl -H 172.16.1.5 -l -w 70 -c 90
Unknown Status

# ./check_apache.pl -H 172.16.1.5 -w 70 -c 90 -u /server-status?auto
Illegal division by zero at ./check_apache.pl line 208.

#./check_apache.pl -H 172.16.1.5 -l -u /server-status?auto
Unknown Status

Can anyone tell what I might be doing wrong?  The apache install definitely has mod_status configured correctly, as the status page is visible at the URL in example 4 above.  Some other information:

Nagios version: 1.2 (yes, I know.)
Perl version (on the Nagios box): 5.8.5
Plugins version: 1.4.2
Apache version: 2.2.3 (on the server I'm trying to monitor)
Linux version: 2.6.8-24.18 (also on the server I'm trying to monitor)
