I tried it....

perl -MCPAN -e shell

cpan shell -- CPAN exploration and modules
installation (v1.61)
ReadLine support available (try 'install

cpan> install SNMP
CPAN: Storable loaded ok
Going to read /root/.cpan/Metadata
  Database was generated on Tue, 19 Feb 2008 03:30:56
SNMP is up to date.

Net::SNMP is most easily installed via CPAN.
