Hello

There are few ways to fix this first I suggest you to read and use capture
wrapper
http://www.nagios.org/faqs/viewfaq.php?faq_id=379 to catch the exact error .

then if its really permissions problem you should simply add your command to
sudo
example nagios localhost=/sbin/iptables -L -n and simply add sudo to your
command it should do the trick
