[Nagiosplug-help] Event handler failed execution

Is there a more in depth way to debug event handlers?  According to the
Nagios logs the event handler script executes as it should.  However,
it's not doing anything (restarting Apache in this case).  I've checked
all permissions.  I can even execute it manually from the command line
and it runs perfect.  But when it's supposedly called by Nagios nothing
happens.  What can I check?
