[Nagiosplug-help] Problem compiling nagiosplugs 1.4.0a1 on HP-UX

You probably need the GNU make.  Here's a link:

Hey all, 
   I am trying to compile Nagios-plugins 1.4.0 alpha 1 on HP-UX 11.i,
and I am running into problems.  I did a normal ./configure, which ran
ok, but when I ran make, I got the following error:

Making all in po
Make: line 172: syntax error.  Stop.
*** Error exit code 1

Stop.
*** Error exit code 1

Stop.

I'm using gcc 3.4.2 and binutils 2.15a. 

Thanks for any help.  I want to get this working.
