[Nagiosplug-help] Nagios Notification Time

Nagios is set to notify after an alert has gone hard. Generally people seem to set Nagios to check a service every five minutes with 3-5 retries at one minute intervals if an error occurred. I’m guessing in your situation if you set the retries = 1. It will notify after the first detection of the problem. You still have the problem of the 5 minutes between regularly scheduled checks…if you pull the network cable 1 second after Nagios checked that service, you still won’t get notified for 5 minutes…but that is a worst case scenario.

Hope that helps.

Marlo

Subject: [Nagiosplug-help] Nagios Notification Time

Hello List...

How is every one doing?

I have a little issue that I would like to raise with you all and will be
very happy if some one can return to me with rigth direction / answer.

At the moment I have Nagios running and I have tested the system where I
pulled the network cable out of the system and Nagios took arround 5 minutes
to actually send me a notification. This is the same when I pulg the
network cable in (arround 5 minutes)

Is there a way to change Nagios Notification perioud so that I get notified
in 10 seconds in both states...

I would very much appriciate your help

Regards

Haydar
