Perhaps you've directed your question to the wrong forum? This list is  
for the official Nagios plugins. check_nfsmounts isn't one of them.  
You _might_ be lucky to find someone on this list who has used it. You  
_may_ have a better chance of a hit on nagios-users but not guaranteed  
since it's a random plugin...

p.s. Have you tried NRPE debug mode?  Have you tried capturing any  
error output of check_nfsmounts to a file (/path/to/check_nfsmounts - 
parameters 2>/tmp/error.log)
