            Nrpe 5666/tcp # NRPE

3. Type "service xinetd restart"

4. Testing the connection by following

            /usr/local/Nagios/libexec/check_nrpe -H 127.0.0.1

Thanks AL for your valuble help,

The error got resolved but while processing whole steps of configuration
it leads to another error.

I follow the steps in nrpe document of nagios.

I successfully installed the following things:
1) nagios plugin
2) install xinetd
3) install nrpe daemon

After that i started xinetd service

During testing i run a command

/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_nrpe -H localhost

its give me following error

CHECK_NRPE: Error - Could not complete SSL handshake.

I searched through google but not able to get satisfactory response.

Please help me to come out of this.
Thanks & Regards
Vineet Mittal

I mean you may use the previous version e.g. 1.4.3 or 1.4.5

Because your remote host had not installed the following component:

- gcc

- openssl-devel

Regards,AL

I had also faced this problem before.

I just download and use another version of Nagios-plugin. E.g. 1.4.3 or
1.4.5
