[Nagiosplug-help] ldd statusmap.cgi show can't find libgd.so.2

Ok, this can't be that difficult.  I finally found the development
libraries and have installed them, recompiled the plugins and nagios. 
Nagios compile states that "GD libraries found!" but when I click on
Status Map, I get the following error.

Server error!
The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete
your request. 
Error message: 
Premature end of script headers: statusmap.cgi 
If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster 
Error 500

an LDD of statusmap.cgi yeilds the following...

[root at aitcorpux01 sbin]# ldd statusmap.cgi
        libgd.so.2 => not found
        libm.so.6 => /lib/i686/libm.so.6 (0x40022000)
        libpng.so.3 => /usr/lib/libpng.so.3 (0x40044000)
        libjpeg.so.62 => /usr/lib/libjpeg.so.62 (0x40067000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/i686/libc.so.6 (0x42000000)
        libz.so.1 => /usr/lib/libz.so.1 (0x40085000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)

What gives?

I would guess you just installed the runtime part of it and not the 
development part. (Extremely common issue in fact.)
